Update: the pascua yaqui tribe broke ground on a major expansion that will include the addition of a new 6-story, 151-room hotel with family-friendly pool with a pool deck, meeting rooms, arcade, lounge area and fitness center, along with a n RV park complete with 90 spaces, and the expansion of the existing conference center.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. The new 93,200 sq ft hotel will be situated on 2.2 acres adjacent to the existing casino resort. The existing conference center at casino del sol is also getting a 9,600-square foot expansion complete with additional break-out rooms to complement the existing convention space.
A new 11,000 sq ft event center will also be added to its sister property, casino of the sun, located at 7406 south camino de oeste also in tuscon.
Located just a short fifteen-minute drive from downtown tucson, casino del sol is owned and operated by the pascua yaqui tribe. The 10-story, 4-star resort features 215 guestrooms, full-service spa, 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, an outdoor pool and two spa tubs, golf course, six restaurants, including the forbes four star PY steakhouse, and seven bars and lounges and 5,000 seat amphitheater hosting top-name acts. There is more than 100,000 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space at casino del sol.
