Cajun stud is a 5-card poker variant that gives power to the player. Players are dealt two pocket cards to be used with a 3-card community board to form a 5-card poker hand. The ante wager is required to receive two pocket cards. Then, the player makes a raise wager up to three times the amount of the ante wager or folds before each community card is revealed. The final 5-card hand is compared to the pay table. Players have the option to bet the following optional wagers to win even more!

The board bonus wager is an optional bonus wager that wins odds if the community board consists of a pair or better.

The pocket bonus wager is an optional wager that allows players to instantly win when pocket cards are any pair or an ace + face.

My stay at L’auberge casino resort, lake charles, louisiana

This beautiful property is a gambling mecca amidst a busy city with a devoted group of gamers. From the moment you step into the rustic lobby (that smells amazing!) you are transformed to an oasis of fun, food, and entertainment just as I was during my stay.

The L’auberge casino resort (pronounced low-bear-ge) standard hotel rooms are spacious, traditionally decorated, and have heavenly beds that you will go crazy for! The mirrored armoire was a nice touch in the massive room and I also liked the green leather headboard. A nice sitting area and desk set both provided a great place for working or relaxing.

Another perk of the room was the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the resort property and the I-210 bridge at night. Luxury and premium rooms are also available. Thanks to L’auberge for having plenty of outlets to charge my devices, too.

The L’auberge amenities

A favorite amenity at the L’auberge casino resort is the huge heated pool with a lazy river found in a tropical setting. You may even want to splurge and enjoy the comforts of a cabana with its own sunbathing area. Best of all, a fun swim-up poolside bar awaits you, preparing your favorite top-shelf cocktails from blue crush grill. There is also an adults-only pool.

Relax your body, mind, and soul as you treat yourself to a body treatment, relaxing massage, or facial at the spa du lac. There are hot tubs and dry saunas for your pleasure. You can also have your hair and nails done at the spa.

L’auberge is also the only place in the state of louisiana with a tom fazio public golf course so if golf is your game, you won’t want to miss it!

Several shops are off of the lobby with everything from resortwear to pool toys, sundries to fresh flowers, plus designer handbags and shoes. Step back in time for a haircut, close shave, or professionally sculpted beard in the very cool 1740 barbier, ready for every man’s grooming needs. Afterwards, pop in the arcade for classic video games and amusements.

Dining at L’auberge

There are five restaurants located on the massive property.

Modern pantry is where you can find bottled beverages, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, snacks, gelato, desserts, and a small assortment of made-to-order foods. I had a delicious bowl of chicken sausage gumbo that could easily compete with the new orleans’ food scene.

Eat all you wish at the le beaucoup buffet, complete with crab legs and other seafood favorites. Separate stations make it easy for guests to stockpile their favorite tex-mex creations, salads, cajun dishes, pastas, meat carvings, american fare, or asian foods. Don’t skip the desserts and pastries! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here daily with a weekend brunch offering. Nightly dinner specials feature either prime rib or steak and shrimp.

Two restaurants I did not have the chance to try were asia and favorites southern kitchen. Asia garnered a crowd just about the entire time it was open. I heard guests raving about the drunken noodles and sushi. Favorites southern kitchen is another L’auberge’s restaurant that is open for breakfast, dinner, and late night cravings.

A fun and patriotic place to eat that will surely make you proud to be an american is the gorgeous jack daniel’s bar and grill. The huge beaded american flag that hangs over the bar is certainly worth stopping by to admire. Savory food and live entertainment are enhanced with a fabulous cocktail menu and dozens of beers on tap. Bar snacks include gator bites, gulf oysters, and jacked up nachos; yum! Main dish favorites include delicious burgers, fried catfish, and all things barbecue. Go for sunday brunch, offering the most amazing bloody mary bar I’ve ever seen!

Dining perfection can be found at the modern american steakhouse, ember grille & wine bar. I was truly bowled over by the impeccable service and attention to detail in this high-end fine-dining restaurant. Ember grille’s staff is highly trained and can describe the dishes like a masterful chef as well as tell you about the cocktail list and wines with impressive skill.

Ember grille & wine bar is rustic and warm as well as highly romantic. Enjoy an elegant meal with top-quality, locally-sourced ingredients as you sip from one of the nearly 250 choices of wine that are offered. The wagyu beef carpaccio will melt in your mouth and the lamb lollichops are genius! Ember’s seafood bisque is plentiful with succulent fat chunks of lobster/crab while the wedge salad is crisp and filling with creamy blue cheese dressing, chinves, and nueske’s bacon. Suggested dinner items include any steak on the menu, trout amandine, and wild salmon. Trust me, this is a meal you will remember for quite some time.

You may also opt to skip a formal table setting and just enjoy a beer or wine flight and appetizer in front of the alluring stone fireplaces. Even the wine flights are taken to a higher dimension with “knights of napalot” featuring cakebread, silver oak, joseph phelps, and shafer “one point five”. Well done with this and four other upscale wine pairings. Live entertainment is offered nightly.

L’auberge lake charles is a resort casino located in lake charles, louisiana. It is close to the texas border and only two hours drive away from houston, where it gets a lot of its visitors from.

Louisiana has a very rich gambling history, dating back to the early days of new orleans, and this tradition continues. Louisiana has a total of 18 casinos and ranks fifth among states in terms of overall casino revenue.

The L’auberge casino resort is owned by pinnacle entertainment, a company that got its start in the horse racing business in california al the way back in 1938, when jack warner of warner bros. Fame opened hollywood park.

In the late 90’s the company started looking toward the casino market, and in 1998 the racetrack was sold once they got a license to open a casino in indiana, the modestly sized belterra casino resort.

The L’auberge lake charles was their second project, completed and opened in 2005. Their business expanded from there, and pinnacle entertainment currently owns and operates 16 casinos around the country now, including the ameristar franchise.

Lake charles itself is a modestly sized city, with a metro population of about 200,000, so it’s not that the location is remote, and visitors also get to take advantage of all of the attractions and amenities in the area in addition to what the L’auberge has to offer. There are also a couple of other casinos in the area to check out at the same time.

Casino gambling contributes significantly to the economy of lake charles, and the L’auberge alone employs 2,400 people. In spite of it only being a medium sized casino as far as the size of its casino floor goes, with 70,000 square feet of gaming space, it has a 1000 room hotel and gets 400,000 visitors a month, so they do a lot of business here.

The L’auberge gets a lot of drive up traffic, but they do have nice accommodations for those who would like to stay a while, either on a business trip or for pleasure, and they have non stop gambling to keep you as entertained as you wish during your stay with them.

They offer guests the choice of either a luxury or a premium luxury room. This hotel isn’t really that old but has recently been renovated to bring it more up to date. The décor here is more “classic” than at some casino hotels, but they are well appointed and do live up to their claim of luxury quite well.

They also offer a choice of several suites, for those who need or just prefer a little more space. The stately appeal of their rooms carries over, and the suites are even more stately in fact, and you can also get suites with additional amenities such as a billiard table or a garden suite.

The rates here tend to be on the higher side as far as hotel casinos go, but this is a product of the market, being located in a city, where prices tend to be higher.

Don’t expect deals like you would see in vegas or atlantic city though, you’re looking at $150 and up even with their room deals. However, demand for their rooms here is high and the hotel is well regarded generally.

One of the biggest appeals of this property is their championship 18 hole golf course, the tom fazio designed contraband bayou. The rates here are very reasonable as well as far as golf courses go, as low as $39, and hotel guests get preferred rates.

There are 7 dining options at L’auberge lake charles, starting with le beaucoup buffet, with a selection of local, american, tex-mex, and asian selections. The ember grille and wine bar specializes in steak, cooked on a wood fire grill, with a piano lounge as well.

Jack daniels bar and grill offers tasty selections served up jack daniels style and a full assortment of refreshments. They also offer live entertainment one evening a week. Asia serves up asian cuisine as well as offering a sushi bar.

Favorites, their newest restaurant, offers southern style breakfasts as well as lunch and dinner in a cozy atmosphere. Modern pantry is a coffee shop that serves soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as desserts. Touloulou’s is a seasonal outdoor bar and grill that operates during the summer months.

As far as entertainment goes, the L’auberge event center offers live acts, and after dark, jack daniel’s bar and grill becomes jack after dark. They also throw parties by the pool at the liquid society which offers live entertainment every thursday evening.

The pool, lazy river, and cabanas offers an adult only pool area with bar service. There’s also spa du lac to check out, and they have a barber shop on site as well, in addition to several shops and boutiques and a high tech arcade.

The L’auberge lake charles casino is where the real action is here, boasting 1,600 slot machines and 83 table games. The slots are all up to date, featuring many of today’s popular games, as well as classic favorites. Video poker machines are also available.

There are 10 different table games laid out here, including blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, four card poker, mississippi stud, let it ride, pai gow poker, texas holdem bonus, and three card poker.

L’auberge has also recently added a 2,100 square foot poker room, including a main room and a semi-private higher stakes room with tableside food service and massages. It offers both limit and no limit texas holdem, limit omaha hi/lo, and pot limit omaha hi. They also offer tournaments every thursday as well as on the last saturday of every month.

Those who wish to take a little break can visit the globar in the center of the casino, where you can relax and enjoy drinks.

L’auberge also offers their players the benefit of their rewards program, where you get credited for your casino and poker action and redeem these points for rewards here.
