Rockstar games has provided further release news on their upcoming GTA 5 online casino update for PS4, xbox and PC platforms.

And as fans will now know, it’s going to do more than just open the doors to a building that has been closed since servers went live.

The release date news we received this week probably wasn’t the kind fans were hoping for, but it does provide a little more information on when the big update could be launched.

It appears that we can scrap the idea that the new GTA online casino will open in june.

From the language used by rockstar in a recent post, it sounds like the new content won’t be dropping this month.

In fact, the wording is so vague it’s hard to determine if it will arrive during july 2019.

All we know for sure is that the grand theft auto casino will be opening its doors during the summer.

And just to be clear, that means rockstar could drop their next multiplayer expansion today, or on september 23, 2019.

So the bad news is that we still can’t predict which month the new content will arrive, only that it is a good sign rockstar has started sharing details.

If rockstar planned on launching the casino DLC on june 27, we probably would’ve been given that release date earlier this week.

So july seems like the earliest time for a new update GTA online, which looks set to expand the game in new ways.

The casino could work as a big social hub for gamers if that is something that can be supported in the base code of the game.

It also sounds like there will be plenty of table games to enjoy and a chance to score high payouts.

Some data miners believe that you will be able to buy a piece of the casino and probably have access to your own room within it, much as we have seen with other businesses.

But while we have the rough outline, we still don’t know the full extent of what the casino will add.

Rockstar will share this before the update goes live, predictably a week before the release date.

With the references to “exclusive shopping” and other first-class entertainment, there’s a chance that the casino will become the game’s biggest hub.

It opens the way for new shops and activities, some of which could spill over from red dead redemption 2.

But until rockstar games pulls back the cover the complete on their next expansion, we will have to wait and see what is being planned.

This latest grand theft auto multiplayer expansion has yet to be given a release date, but that could all be changing very soon.

There are now hopes that big news surrounding the GTA online DLC will be released by rockstar games later this week.

Data miners and game trackers have been keeping a close eye on how the development team goes about their launch cycles.

And some now believe that the next week or so will see the launch of the GTA 5 online casino expansion.

It should be noted that rockstar games have not confirmed much past the news that it will be landing during summer 2019.

And that provides a very vague release window for fans to get excited about.

But based on how things have been done in the past for GTA online, new details could be shared on thursday, july 11.

Rockstar games are expected to announce the release date alongside a new trailer around a week before the new DLC arrives.

When asked on twitter about it, funz replied: “I'll say next week but keep in mind I'm not sure about this.

“if july 18th is the release date, then next week will be the best time to announce the release date or reveal a trailer for it.”

This all checks out with how rockstar has handled launches in the past, but there’s always the chance that the dev team have had to change their plans.

But even if we don’t hear more about the new expansion this week, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be waiting long for new information.

And details still remain murky at best when it comes to what exactly will be included.

Rockstar has confirmed that gamers will be able to visit the new casino location and play various table games, as well as visit new shops.

But we still don’t know about all the other stuff that could be released alongside it.

New elite vehicles seem a given, but it’s hard to say in which direction rockstar will take their latest content.

We already have flying motorbikes, so there’s a big scope for what the development team could have planned.

Last week rockstar games confirmed the release date for the highly anticipated GTA 5 online casino update.

On thursday the grand theft auto makers revealed that the GTA 5 online casino update release date would be tuesday july 23.

Announcing the GTA news, the rockstar games twitter posted: “the diamond casino & resort.

A start time for the grand theft auto DLC download has not been revealed yet, but it typically drops between 10am and 11am UK time.

ROCKSTAR is getting ready to drop another big update for GTA 5 online, with more DLC focused on the games casino.

Rockstar games has confirmed that the suspected and long overdue casino update is coming to GTA online.

A new tweet on the official rockstar twitter account has told fans:

"opening soon: A luxury casino in the heart of vinewood. "

It's obviously a very on the nose hint at what's to come and there's no release date to suggest when this update could drop.

Original story - GTA 5 online fans are gearing up for rockstar to drop a massive new update for the game and arguably one that's been in the making for the longest possible time.

Last week fans and leakers spotted some subtle changes to the game which hinted that the in-game casino building could be set for a major overhaul

It's become something of a running joke that the casino had displayed an 'opening soon' banner outside the unused building ever since grand theft auto 5 online launched in 2013.

But the key word here is 'had', because as of last week all that changed with a small GTA online update released by rockstar on the quiet

"there were rumors that GTAO next update will feature the casino, I can confirm it," tweeted out infamous GTA dataminer tezfunz2

"just now, [rockstar] have updated the background script to set specific dates that will apply changes to the casino," he continued. "you'll notice changes happening near the casino as we move closer to release."

And it didn't take long before fans spotted that the banner was gone and construction materials have materialised in front of the casino entrance. Some players have even noted that you can see some sort of interior, which was previously blocked off.

At the time of writing rockstar hasn't even acknowledged the casino changes they've been subtly making to the game in the past weeks, let alone a release date.

That said we can have a fairly good stab at predicting when they might look to release this latest game-changing update to GTA online.

Firstly, rockstar tend to release new content drops on a thursday. If you look at the past three weeks these updates have normally arrived every thursday and you can continue to go back for weeks on end.

It's just when rockstar likes to drop new content.

So it's possible that we could see this new DLC arrive as early as today, but if not we suspect we won't be waiting too much longer for the content to drop.

It's been, after all, over 6 months since the games last major expansion, which came with the GTA online: arena war update in mid-december.

Prior to that, we had the after hours update released in july 2018 and before that southern san andreas super sport series in march 2018.

Looking at 2018 on it's own rockstar rarely went longer than 4 or 5 months before dropping another 'big' expansion.

Understandably rockstar has been busy with red dead redemption 2 and red dead online since late 2018. It was only mid may that red dead online officially left it's 'beta' period.

Playing devils advocate there's one thing which suggests we might have to wait a little bit longer for this update, and that's all to do with the potential for new mini-game, a recent red dead online update and microtransactions.

Something gamesrader has eloquently explained in a separate report.

"this news comes shortly after poker and other gambling games were added to red dead online, stirring the pot since the game has microtransactions," writes ford james on gamesrader.

"only gold bars can be bought with real money however, and gambling in that game uses dollars, which are a separate currency.

"for rockstar to avoid uproar, it'll need to introduce a second currency to GTA online that can't be bought with real money, which we haven't had any sign of yet.

"only time will tell, however, and it's likely that red dead online's gambling was used to test the waters for GTA online, which is their big-time cash cow.

We don't think we're going to be waiting too much longer for the GTA online casino update to arrive, but it certainly feels like it could be another major expansion to the ever-growing grand theft auto universe.

This is a breaking news story, but for the sake of quickly adding our own two cents, it's worth noting that summer, technically starts june 21.

That could mean a month-long wait until rockstar finally releases the new GTA online update.

One of the more interesting theories we've seen when it comes to new content for the GTA online casino update relates to horse racing and the big track sitting behind the casino itself.

Prominent GTA and red dead redemption 2 content creator, mrbossftw, has done a lot of digging and has put forward the case.

You can read more on that theory by following the above link, but as we wrap up this story let us boil down the key details.

Mrbossftw suggests the game could look to include these animals which have previously been found in the game's files from as far back as the original release.

Furthermore, the youtuber goes on to suggest that the game could potentially implement a live horse racing circuit using the track out the back.

This could be used to both race and spectate from the grandstand like the spectating booth in arena war.

So far rockstar intel has reported that on PS4 the new casino update is 3.427GB whereas on xbox one it takes up 3.24GB.

It's early in the morning but already one of the most prominent GTA 5 leakers has started to release several new cars and much more for the new game update (don't ask us how!).

Twitter user @foxyleaks has revealed 22 new GTA online cars coming to the game as part of the update, and they are going to be pretty special.

Tezfunz2 also reports that this is split between 5 super cars, 6 sports cars, 3 sports classic cars, 2 offroad cars, 4 muscle cars, 1 motorcycle and 1 SUV.

That changed a month back, with rockstar teasing the casino's opening by removing the sign, before making it official with a rockstar games blogpost.

Finally, in games next update, it's getting a full makeover and will reopen as the diamond casino and resort featuring "lavish amenities, exclusive shopping, first-class entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities”.

That's an easy question to start with. Rockstar games has promised that the next GTA online update, complete with the all-new diamond casino and resort will go live tomorrow, july 23rd.

That's a better question. Typically rockstar games updates tend to drop in the morning and in our previous experience we've seen these arrive quite early for anyone playing the game in the UK.

Normally the updates drop from 9am BST onwards with GTA twitter user @foxysnaps normally pinging out automated tweets as soon as the update drops on PS4, xbox one and PC.

You shouldn't be waiting any later than midday if you're playing in the uk.

The twitter user normally shares the update sizes for each platform as well. That said, we'll be sure to drop all the updates on this page as we get them.

As you'd imagine, the casino features blackjack, three card poker, roulette, and slot machines, while there's a new "inside track lounge" which features horse racing to bet on.

As noted by GTA insider, tezfunz2, you can win prizes from $200 up to $100,000 on slot machines.

Supposedly a new currency will also be introduced with funz2 also saying: “many have been wondering about the gambling laws, and how rockstar is gonna deal with them.

“from this picture (above), you can see there's a new currency which appears to be "casino chips". You can earn up to GTA$50,000 or 15,000 RP or 25,000 casino chips.”

There's also a lucky wheel which offers a variety of rewards - most impressive among them is the truffade thrax a new car being introduced to the game.

As we mention, rockstar games have already confirmed that they're adding the truffade thrax to the game, but GTA online updates such as this normally add a whole heap of new vehicles.

So you'll need to stay tuned for info tomorrow morning when the update drops. @foxysnaps has a good track record (in our mind) of leaking files for the new cars as soon as the update drops, along with the prices. So stay tuned, we'll bring all that info to you when it arrives.

Of course, winning heaps of cash wouldn't be a lot of fun without something to spend it on, but the casino offers a master penthouse.

Suffice to say, whilst the casino will be fun, this is where you'll be conducting most of your business. It'll also be interesting to see what exactly happens with tao cheng, given the last time we saw him in GTA 5 you could choose to kill him. Although for the purpose of the mission "the third way," it was only wei cheng (tao's dad) who franklin agrees to kill.

Hopefully you managed to claim your twitch prime bonus last week because you only have until the end of the day on july 19th in order to do so.

GTA online players are getting ready to rob the diamond casino and resort. Here's everything you need to know about the next stage of GTA online DLC.

There's not long to wait, according to GTA 5 insider and fountain of knowledge tezfunz2, the GTA 5 diamond casino heist update should be live "within two hours".

That's based on a tweet at sent at 8am GMT.

So by 10am this morning all players on PS4, xbox one and PC should have the new update rolling out and a host of new activities to complete.

Original story follows - the next big GTA 5 and GTA online update is coming this tomorrow, and it'll be ready to roll out on PS4, xbox one and PC.

"prepare yourself for the biggest, most audacious, most complex criminal operation ever to hit los santos in the diamond casino heist," notes a rockstar press release.

The new DLC will be coming to all platforms of the game on december 12, and if past rockstar updates are anything to go by, we can likely expect the game to launch fairly early in UK time.

Typically, rockstar games updates tend to drop in the morning and in our previous experience big updates to the game like this one will arrive earlier than the average update.

That means we can probably expect this update to start rolling out at about 10am GMT or shortly thereafter.

GTA twitter user @foxysnaps usually starts publishing automated tweets as soon as the update drops on PS4, xbox one and PC – we'll keep our eyes on that account and update you when information starts to circulate.

We've got a few bytes of information out of rockstar about what to expect in the next update to GTA online, but there are still a few question marks about how it's all going to knit together.

We know that the newly introduced mission will look at how the online heists work, and restructure them to some degree.

"the diamond casino heist is an all-new approach to heist architecture and execution: one huge gameplay-packed operation as you work with the cheng family to infiltrate the most secure building in all of los santos," notes a rockstar press release.

It sounds like no two heists are going to play out the same this time – giving players more freedom and choice once they're through the doors.

"expect outcomes for you and your crew to change on the fly as you deal with each new situation, leading to more choices mid-mission," the press release notes.

Even if the best laid plans go sideways, you’ll have the opportunity to keep the mission afloat without failing by shooting your way out with your remaining team lives – so even if it goes wrong. You could salvage something out of the attempt.
